About Telepathic Instruments

Telepathic Instruments is an internationally based electronic instruments company founded by Kevin Parker and friends. Our whole thing is to help musicians find what’s on their mind. Our first product, Orchid, combines intuitive design with deep synthesis and sampling capabilities, and we’re just getting started. Our product design is lead by 3 core principles: Insight, Innovation, and Inspiration.

Role Summary

We’re hiring a Senior Digital Product Designer to work across Telepathic Instruments and Love and Money. This is a shared full-time contractor role focused on product design at the intersection of creativity, culture, and technology.At Telepathic, you’ll lead UX/UI for our digital software experiences, instrument interfaces (GUI), ecommerce, onboarding, and connected web platforms.

At Love and Money, you’ll contribute to high-impact digital, brand, and product sprints for world-class clients across identity, platform, and experience.You’ll work closely with product, creative, and engineering teams to scope, prototype, and deliver work that’s intuitive, inspiring, and effective. You’ll bring clarity to complexity, elevate our craft, and help us scale both product systems and design standards.

Responsibilities (Telepathic Instruments)

3 Days Weekly

Lead end-to-end UX/UI for our desktop apps, web-based tools, and ecommerce platforms

Design scalable, intuitive systems for our plugin ecosystem (e.g. Pistil), firmware UIs, and onboarding flows

Collaborate with engineering to ensure design fidelity, performance, and feasibility

Own the look and feel of GUI experiences for Orchid and future Telepathic instruments

Translate synthesis parameters and controls into clear, expressive interaction models

Shape the visual language of Telepathic’s digital product layer

Refine our Shopify-based ecommerce flow across markets

Design drop experiences, product education flows, and support interfaces

Partner with brand and marketing to drive seamless creative-to-commerce experiences

Support UX validation through hands-on user testing, internal QA, and coordinated regression testing

Design and refine test cases tied to user stories, collaborating with QA and product teams

Participate in bug triage and feedback loops, helping isolate usability issues before release

Monitor and analyse user feedback across BetaHub, Discord, Nolt, and Patreon

Translate recurring issues and insights into actionable design improvements

Maintain empathy-driven awareness of user sentiment and report back patterns regularly

2 Days Weekly

Contribute to identity, UI, and digital platform design across client sprints

Help shape branded product experiences with clear systems and stunning design

Work across brand and digital teams to deliver world-class outcomes

Bring product thinking into brand design, helping elevate strategy through UX clarity

Rapidly iterate on prototypes, visual systems, and client-facing deliverables

Skills + Experience

5–10+ years experience in UX/UI and digital product design

Mastery of Figma and modern design tooling (incl. component systems, prototyping)

Strong systems thinking and design leadership

Experience designing hardware interfaces, plugins, or digital-physical UX a big plus

Able to work across product, QA, and engineering teams from idea to implementation

Comfortable using validation, regression testing, and feedback platforms to inform design

Strong communication and stakeholder presentation skills

Bonus: experience with Shopify, BetaHub, Nolt, Discord, Patreon

Bonus-bonus: you’ve used Orchid, are obsessed with music gear, or know the names of at least 5 of our Studios guests
