About.

Love and Money builds products, brands and businesses. A design consultancy HQ'd in Melbourne specialising in strategy, identity, product design and development.

What We Do
Not what you think. Some people describe us as a branding agency, others a design studio, sometimes people just point at the shit hot websites we make, a few people know we build companies. That's all true. The work spans strategy and identity, digital products, ecommerce and campaigns. It also veers into supply chain management, new product design and development, all in service of building products, brands and businesses around a singular creative vision, and occasionally visionary.
You build businesses?
We've built brands and digital experiences for all sorts of businesses. We've also stuck around to help run them. We've co-operated businesses in beauty, fashion, food and beverage, technology... we worked up enough reps in enough categories to start co-founding companies ourselves, the best example of which is Telepathic Instruments.
What's Telepathic?
Telepathic Instruments a music technology company that we co-founded with Kevin Parker and friends. The Love and Money team play a huge role in the day to day operations of Telepathic, building products, marketing and Ecommerce. We also happen to share a CEO.
Who have you worked with?
PepsiCo. Polaroid. CMC Markets. OTTO Motors. Coles. Karst Stone Paper. Westpac. Idealworks. HOKA. Denada. Fluff. Euphemia. Telepathic Instruments. Frank Body. Frank Darling. DIRTT. L'Oreal.
Where are you?
Love and Money was founded in Melbourne, Australia. These days we have a team that spans the Globe (United States, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom and sometimes France).
Charl Laubscher
Charl Laubscher builds and scales creative companies. He studied as a musician, started his career as a designer, realised he was better as a writer, graduated to a strategist, and finally became a reluctant entrepreneur (he still hates that word.)  14 years ago he founded the design consultancy Love and Money, that eventually built Telepathic Instruments. Now as CEO of Telepathic, Charl brings his expertise in branding, business building, and corporate strategy to the world of music hardware. It’s a full circle moment to come back to music, and finally make something out of the jazz degree he dropped out of.  When Kevin wanted help on a business he thought it was going to be doing a line of Tame Impala soaps. This turned out to be way better.
Danny Pemberton
Danny is a designer and director who puts impact at the centre of his work. A cross-discipline collaborator, he’s as comfortable designing a physical stop-motion animation as he is the user experience of a digital product. His work has appeared in MoMA's New York Store, and he’s collaborated with global brands including Teenage Engineering, Havaianas, Disney, Stranger Things and Saint Laurent. Although his one-time dream of becoming a Magnum Photographer didn’t work out, he did spend several years as Creative Director for Polaroid globally, and tells himself that this is almost as interesting. Formerly a design lead at IDEO in San Francisco, he's now a managing partner at Love and Money and design lead at Telepathic Instruments.
